What Is a SERP? Search Results, Explained

Definition

What is SERP (Search Engine Results Page)?

A SERP (search engine results page) is the page a search engine returns for a query. Modern SERPs mix organic results with ads, maps, images, “People also ask” boxes and AI Overviews — so visibility depends on which features a query triggers, not just the ranked position.

Why SERP features matter

Each feature is its own opportunity: a featured snippet, a map-pack slot, an AI Overview citation. SEO that only counts blue-link positions misses where much of the attention actually goes.

Rank tracking on modern SERPs

Meaningful tracking reads real Search Console data and watches AI surfaces alongside classic positions — which is exactly what SERP Agent (yes, named after this) does daily.

Reading about SEO is optional. Doing it isn’t.

SERP Agent runs the whole program — audit, strategy, content, links and AI-search visibility — every day, on its own.
